Bio

Lou Ann Peterson

Sports: Swimming, biking, running, yoga.  Not sure if yoga counts as a sport or not

DOB: 12/20/46 (yes, really 1946!)

Occupation: Elementary school physical education teacher.  on the front lines of the battle
against childhood obesity

Where I live and play: Peoria

Marital status: Married, no kids

Animals: 2 labrador retrievers. both black, one male and one female
Favorite workout route: wherever Cheryl is

Favorite race:  Barb's Race (a women only non-competitive half Ironman) at Vineman in
the wine country north of San Francisco

Role model and why: that's a tough one.  One for sure is my Dad.  He's 86 and he swims,
rides his bike and bowls.  He only recently gave up Senior Volleyball because he said it was hard on his knees.  I know he'd have been a triathlete had there been local ones back in Ohio in the '70's.  Cheryl is also a role model for me.  She is so positive about everything and is such a model for women

Ideal weekend: a couple of nice bike rides, cool off in a lake, barbeque some food and enjoy the company of nice people

Proudest moment: finishing Barb's Race with my Dad.  Also finishing Ironman Baja 70.3 and beating the time limit

Best Training Tip:  Do the Work

Gear I can't live without: bike stuff and clothes by Nicole DeBoom

Favorite pre-workout/race meal: oatmeal, banana, green tea and a half bottle of Heed

Sport I'd most like to try:  like to do more hiking and someday do the rim to rim to rim hike in the Grand Canyon

When I'm not riding, (running or swimming) I'm playing with my dogs, sleeping or eating.  I really do quite a lot of all three of those things
